How to simply create lessons on your iPad for center time, flipped classroom, or homework help. This app is perfect for those times you wish there could be more than one of YOU in the classroom. So easy to use, your students can create lessons to share.
This session will show the basics of Kid Blog. Kid Blog is a very safe and secure site for your students to blog. You have complete control over the blog, including what is posted and who can see it. The session will demonstrate how to sign-up, build a class, and get started. I will share some things that students in my class have done on the Kid Blog site and how it has been used in a 3rd grade setting. Anyone having used Kid Blog will be welcome to share their experiences and offer tips and pointers.
Learn everything from the basics of simply turning on your device to being able to take a picture. You will discover what many basic functions your iPad is capable of as we explore the Settings option. You will dive into the task of looking for, downloading, and managing apps available for your classroom use. By the end of the session, you should be comfortable managing the basic features required for use. Very slow paced with plenty of time for questions and answers. Please come with any questions you may have that may be addressed during the session.
What is a smackdown? A smackdown is when you compare a whole bunch of technologies and delve into how they can be used in the classroom. This smackdown will include many apps, web resources and digital integration tools what can be used across multiple disciplines. Not covered will be: Pages, Keynote and Numbers. Here are a few resources that will: Bamboo Paper, CloudOn, Scratch Work, PDF Master, AppsGoneFree, Symbaloo, Educreations, Nearpod…and as many more we can get to. Come to this session prepared to see a wealth of tools that can be used in your classroom. Along with this session will be a document with the names of all we covered with descriptions for later use. Come and see what is possible in your room tomorrow.
Get started with the Apple apps, Pages, Numbers, and Keynote. People will work through getting started with the apps, basic app functionality, and how to move documents around. We will also talk about using existing Word, Excel, PowerPoint documents and some document managament strategies going foward.
Please make sure that you have WebDAV setup for each of the apps. Directions can be found in the 1:1 iPad Program Moodle course in the Documents and Links section.
iPad 201 is a session designed for those that would like to learn about some of the great features the iPad offers (even for beginners). We are going to provide a variety of ways to help you become more comfortable with your iPad. Some of the topics we will cover will be settings, creating folders, deleting apps, create shortcut apps for those favorite websites, bookmarks for Safari (Internet), searching for items on your iPad, and Multitouch Gestures.
Super excited about incorporating technology into your classroom? Can’t wait for students to get their hands on iPads and to see what they can create? Are you totally pumped to capture their creations and progress on the iPads and show it off to their parents and your peers? And do you have absolutely no idea how to do this? Then this class is for you. In this class, you will learn about the amazing ability to take photos and videos of your students working on their iPads, how you can organize these files, and one way in which you can share what is going on in your classroom. Never blogged before? No problem. During this session, you will capture photos and videos on your iPad. You will then organize these files so you can access them with ease later. Finally, you will create a class blog where you can share these items with others.
Tony will briefly demonstrate the use of the Ubersense video capture and analysis program. This free app allows you to take video with your IPad, analyze using drawing tools and include voice over-if desired and share either immediately with the athlete or email to others for input. Participants will be encouraged to use the app to video each other and practice the use of the program.
Those attending are encouraged to download this free app in advance at the Apple store or by googling the Ubersense website and downloading there.
If you feel you have a good grasp on technology skills and want to delve deeper into managing your iPad then this session will help you earn your iPad Phd! Lots of quick typing skills, copy, paste and cut tips, Apple TV, multi-task bar, making folders and more.
This session will cover the mechanics of file management with the iPad. Moving files back and forth between school computers and your iPads and how to open/save those files to maximize compatibility.
Using the Ukiyo app to show and walk through the different levels of integration: use tech as a tool, as an activity, as a unit enhancer, as a flipped environment.
You will need the free Ukiyou-Woodcut App for this session.

This session has been created to support the music instructors in the district. We will be exploring specific uses for the iPad in the music classroom and talk about how the iPad can make our educational lives more efficient and simple: ear training, sight reading, part learning, part assessment, music storage, finale files, etc. This session will also present ideas about how we can use iPads to address/teach the following topics in the classroom: listening, Garage Band (layering backgrounds for performances), composing with music software, note names, music theory, piano, dubstep layering, etc. Lastly, this session will suggest different apps to use as tools in the music classroom: tuner, metronome, attendance trackers (for lessons or small ensembles), Twitter, Facebook pages, Spotify, etc.

Aren’t PLNs just playing on Twitter? This session will show you how to create a PLN and how to personalize your professional development. Professional development should be personal development, so join us for great session on how to take control of your professional learning.

This session will be an introduction Moodle (Lynx OnLine). Moodle allows you to customize your online learning environment – the best way to have a digital classroom. We will show you the various tools that Moodle has to offer for you and or your students, including how to push material out, creating quizzes and forums just to name a few. No experience with Moodle is necessary.
